Delete your Cardtell account

This page is for Cardtell, the party card game published by Nikita Dilevschi. It explains how to delete your account and what happens to the data attached to it.

If you still have the app

Deleting from inside the app is immediate and needs no request:

Open Cardtell.
Go to Settings.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is removed straight away and the app signs itself out.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email support@cardtell.fun with the subject Delete my account, from the email address you signed in with — or, if you used Sign in with Apple's private relay, from the relay address it gave you, which is the only address we can match.

You do not need to reinstall the app. We will confirm by reply once it is done, normally within a few days and at most within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your display name and your username.
Your email address, however you signed in.
The hash of your password, if you set one, and any unused codes we sent you.
Your avatar choice.
The link between every sign-in method on the account — Apple, Google or email — and your player.

This happens immediately, whichever route you use. Signing in again afterwards creates a new player rather than restoring the old one — this is deletion, not a rename.

What is not deleted, and why

Purchases. Records of what you bought are kept while the entitlement lasts, because tax and consumer law require a record of a sale. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
Cards you wrote that were reported. If somebody reported a card you wrote, the text stays in the moderation queue until it has been read. It is kept without your name or email once your account is gone.
Server logs. Fault and abuse logs, including IP addresses, rotate automatically — typically within a few weeks — and are not searchable by account.
Which cards a group has been dealt. Stored against a one-way value derived from a room code, not against you, so there is nothing in it to delete. To have a group's history removed, email us with the room code.

Playing without an account

Cardtell does not require an account — you can play as a guest. If you never signed in, there is no account to delete: uninstalling the app removes the identity token your device holds, after which the random player identifier on our server cannot be linked to you by anyone, including us.
